Saintly revival

I wanna say something. I'm gonna put it out there. If you like it, you can take it, if you don't, send it right back. This may sound crazy, but if you are Don Shula, Bill Polian or Jason Nebenzhal, and looking for a value bet to win the Superbowl other than New England, well, how about the New Orleans Saints?

Here's the science.

The Saints are on fire. After starting the season looking completely lost at 0-4 they have dug themselves out of that hole and are

You know what, let's check the NFC South table out right now. Come on.

NFC SOUTHWLTPCTPFPASTRKDIVCONF
Tampa Bay 5 4 0 .556 164 144 Won 1 2-0 4-2
Carolina 4 4 0 .500 137 161 Lost 2 2-1 4-1
New Orleans 4 4 0 .500 173 186 Won 4 1-2 3-2

Carolina are a mess, an ugly mess. Tampa have huge issues, whilst the real form team, who are riding a four game winning streak, are the Saints. In terms of taking the NFC South by the reins, the combined record of the Saints remaining opponents is a NY Jets like 23-42.

This is where it gets interesting.

Reggie Bush

The Saints are a whopping 40-1 with some bookies (contact me to find out who!), to win the Superbowl. If they take the pathetic NFC South, who's going to stop them, the Lions? Sorry Dad, the Saints would win that one 52-50. What I am talking about here is momentum, the Saints are playing well, they seem to have gelled again offensively, with Drew Brees and Reggie Bush leading the way impressively.

In terms of value, that 40/1 is pretty tasty. Particularly if you are one of those bitter, twisted 'anti New England' people that are absolutely hating the 2007 NFL season that's unveiling before your narrow, angry eyes.

Speaking of the Patriots, 4/5. That's right. 4/5.

find myself in agreement with you on the value of this- they have the momentum as you mentioned, plus a friendly second half schedule against opponents a combined 24-42. ive had a small piece of that action and will file that alongside brady for nfl mvp at 5/1 (just pay me now!) and garnett for nba mvp at a tasty 20/1! miami to go 0-16 at 40/1 isnt looking so ridculous either about now!
