Is tonight the last Major League start for Pedro Martinez?
I'll tell you, we are going to miss him when he is gone. Will anyone come anywhere close to...you know what, I am not going to even finish that sentence. Pedro's incredible stretch from circa 1997 to circa 2004 included some of the most outstanding, magical and superlative worthy pitching ever seen on the planet earth.
The crazy part, the above isn't even really an exaggeration.
Therefore, I ask again, with trepidation, is tonight the last time Pedro Martinez pitches in the Majors? I say trepidation, as in an ideal world Pedro would go out on a high, not losing five in a row and being a part of yet another brutal Mets collapse.
He belongs in Boston putting up W's and amassing K's like there is no tomorrow.
Maybe there is no tomorrow, in terms of Petey's career.
