As we move into the most exciting part of the baseball season, one wonders, what is the best possible World Series matchup for 2008? Bear in mind this is a list of the best, most enjoyable and indeed most watchable World Series matchups. Not the most likely to occur by any stretch.
Let's chop it up.
Top five potentially drool worthy World Series matchups: Number three!
LA Angels v LA Dodgers
Come on. This would be pretty amazing, no? Of course, MLB and television executives everywhere are secretly ensuring this series does not happen by paying off umpires and drugging Manny's gatorade, as this would be an absolute ratings disaster.
The matchup has every chance of happening also, it's not just pie in the LA sky. The Angels have the second best manager in the game and are absolutely stocked at every position. The Dodgers have the third best manager in the game and have momentum on their side, cruising powerfully into the playoffs.
Torre v Scosia, Rally Monkey v Manny being Manny, West coast grit (Angels) against West coast smooth style (Dodgers).
Potential for a great series here, however, would anyone on the East Coast be watching?
- Number five: Milwaukee v Tampa Bay
- Number four; Boston v LA Dodgers
