Roll out the red carpet - 1. The NL MVP

NL MVP: CC Sabathia.

No playoff bound player meant more to their team than big CC Sabathia. Very simple equation, Milwaukee minus CC Sabathia = no playoffs in '08. Simple as that. What CC did in 17 games started for Milwaukee was nothing but spectacular. For a start, he tossed 7 complete games. In this day and age of pitch counts and light-weight pitchers, 7 complete games is a decent career mark for some of this eras mound mongrels. 80% of pitchers are more inclined to take a 'five and dive' than go the full 9. The best part of that is, that was just in his 130 innings with Milwaukee, he also threw 3 complete games for Cleveland.

He not only ate up innings like Boo Weekley eats up buckets of deep fried chicken, he also went 11-3 with a stunning 1.65 ERA, and a Pedroesque 128/25 strikeout to walk ratio. CC Sabathia quite literally took the Brew Crew, lifted them onto his mighty back and said, 'hop on guys, we're going to the playoffs'.

That is how an MVP rolls.
