AL MVP: Dustin Pedroia
The numbers don't lie. Pedroia has put together one of the greatest seasons ever by a Red Sox second baseman. He is the dynamo that drives Boston. 118 runs, a superb .326 average. 213 hits and a very respectable 17 home runs. Then there's the 20 stolen bases against just 1 single caught stealing incident. Pedroia's numbers aren't sexy in the traditional sense, he didn't hit 54 home runs, however he did drive Boston into the post season, something Mauer, Hamilton, A-Rod and many others didn't.
