True grit.

It may not have been pretty. It may not have been as obvious as the 'bloody sock' game of 2004. However what Josh Beckett did last night took allot of intestinal fortitude. Beckett's gritty five inning stint, holding an explosive Rays lineup to two runs in that stretch, was a testament to the mans heart and will to win.

He simply refused to lose to a team that had been, only hours earlier, fist pumping, self congratulating and basically feeling as if the job was done. Not so fast. In '04 it was Pedro, Schilling and Lowe. In 2008 it could be Matsuzaka, Beckett and Lester.

Love 'em or hate 'em, this team has the heart of a lion, and wow are they good TV.
