If you guessed JD Salinger...you were wrong. It's Ichiro, naturally! Ichiro made the comment after yesterdays game against New York. During the game Suzuki singled to drive in Betancourt but was then caught off first in a rundown, and decided against prolonging the play. The All-Star outfielder simply turned and ran out of the base paths toward his dugout without being tagged. What can you say, he doesn't like to be touched!

On a related note...I am convinced that Salinger is the one who wrote the book "Shoeless Joe" (Field of Dreams was the movie version). Aside from linguistic similarities, the ease-his-pain writer in Shoeless Joe is Salinger, not the fictional Terrance Mann! Conspiracies! :)

I saw you in the Emerald Diamond - really loved it. I hope things are going well for baseball in Ireland.
