Hurricane power - Irish league update

The Dublin City Hurricanes got their 2008 season back on track today with a 22-1 A-League win over the Northstars in sun drenched conditions up in Belfast.

The Hurricanes move to 5-1 with the win.

The Canes got off to a bright start and a veteran, patient approach saw them score seven runs in the first inning. Dan Barry, Andy Martin, Eric Valkys and Steve Divito all had great days with the bat however the star of the show was one of the brighter young stars in Irish baseball, Tommy Hernandez, who slammed a long, deep home run and drove in several runs with a couple of other nice hits.

The Hurricanes also played great error-less defence with Andy Martin and Dan Barry playing particularly well in the field.

Great sunny weather, great win, great mini road trip. Great day for the Canes.
