Irish Baseball 'A' League Final

The Irish league baseball finals are upon us. On Sunday the 'Baby Canes', or Hurricanes 'B' won the Irish baseball league 'B' level final 3-2 over the Greystones Mariners in a great game in the sunshine at the O'Malley baseball facility in Corcaigh Park. Pete Rotoulo pitched six strong innings and Garret Pearse came in for the save.

On the same day the Spartans beat the Mariners 'A' squad to reach the final, where they will face the Dublin Hurricanes, who had beaten the Spartans the week before.

Now the old rivals will meet in a best of three final series, starting this weekend. The Hurricanes and Spartans have won the last six Irish league titles between them. If the 2-1 Hurricanes win from two weeks ago was anything to go by, it should be a great series.
