Pitching in the rain is like trying to use two fingers to pick up a wet watermelon seed. Batting in the rain is no fun either. Standing in the field in the rain, well, you get the picture. My club side the Dublin Hurricanes had a weekend double header against the veteran Belfast Northstars team on Saturday the 18th. We prevailed 22-7 in the first game under constant showers. The second game was called after about two innings thanks to heavy downpours.

The Hurricanes and Spartans meet this coming Saturday in a crucial Irish league fixture at 11am at the O'Malley Fields. The weather has actually been decent since yesterday, but you just never know. Here's to global warming and melting ice caps. Gotta love that rain.
